Welcome to SAE Institute of Technology's Atlanta campus. The newest of SAE's campuses in the United States located at 215 Peachtree Street in Atlanta Georgia. One of over 45 campuses around the world, SAE Atlanta educates students for careers in the professional audio industries. Students graduate with the experience and foundation necessary to enter the exciting and multifaceted entertainment industry. Graduates also gain the advantage of joining SAE's established alumni network built of industry professionals around the world.

SAE Atlanta occupies over 17,500 square feet of space built by World Renown studio builder Michael Cronin. The campus of over 20 studios and workstations includes a 5.1 surround sound mixing theater featuring a Digidesign Icon control surface and Pro Tools HD system, both an SSL 4000G+ and Neve VR60 analog consoles, multiple other consoles and processors by Yamaha, Mackie, Digidesign, Focusrite, TC Electronics, and Urei to name a few.

Our philosophy of "Hands On Education" has lead us to develop a program which provides each Audio Technology Degree and Diploma student an Apple laptop computer package including Pro Tools LE and Apple's Logic software.

(September 2008):
SAE Atlanta and Remix Hotel partner for another amazing event. This years panelist include Bryan-Michael Cox, J.US.T.I.C.E. League, DJ Toomp, Drumma Boy and Trak Starz to mention a few. Three days of technology master classes, workshops, panels, seminars and clinics about music production and performance for electronic- and urban-music producers, engineers, musicians, fans and DJs. Remix Hotel offers exposure to and training on the hottest products available for the production and performance markets.
(June 20, 2008):
Director Chris Davie and Head Supervisor David Lopez provide an in-depth look at the art of recording drums. Both current students and alumni attended. Topics included drum tuning, microphone selection, and placement. The workshop took place in the Neve VR60 studio and utilized microphones by Neumann, Earthworks, Blue, Royer, Sennheiser, Rode and Shure.
(June 19, 2008):
SAE Atlanta students donate their time to record a charity event at the Hard Rock Cafe Atlanta. Utilizing their Apple laptops and Digidesign MBoxes they archived the event, which is being mastered and donated back to the charity.  


(May 31, 2008):
SAE Atlanta graduates its first class. In a celebration acknowledging the accomplishments of the ATP0807FT class both Faculty and Staff shared in the festivities. The event included a Keynote address by Michele Rhea Caplinger (Senior Executive Director of the Atlanta chapter of The Recording Academy) welcoming the future Grammy winners to the industry. They not only join the Professional community they have also become a part of SAE's Alumni community. SAE Atlanta wishes this amazingly talented crew much success in the start of their new and exciting careers in the Music Industry.

(March 5, 2008):
SAE Atlanta Students enjoyed a trip to Glenn Schick Mastering where they gained first hand knowledge from a Mastering Legend. While at Glenn's facility they experienced the mastering process from start to finish. Glenn discussed and showed different approaches to mastering a project. Students spent time in Schick's world class stereo and surround sound mastering studios exploring various sonic styles. As a bonus they were given a personal lesson from Colin Leonard on the art of cutting vinyl using a vintage Neumann VMS-70 Lathe.
(February, 2008):
SAE Atlanta held a Critical Listening Seminar for it's students on February 1, 2008. The focus of the Critical Listening Seminar is listen to the songs chosen by staff members and to provide a critique on what they heard. Students are provided a reference sheet that gives them "Things to listen for." In addition, the staff members included information on why they chose a particular song and what they like about the song as far as how it sounds, the engineers style, what interesting instruments were used, etc. The semenar took place in the 5.1 Theater .

(January, 2008):
SAE Institute of Technology announces the establishment of the new
Oxford International Degree Center. Not only will the new Oxford campus be the largest SAE Institute to date - more than 8,500 square meters - it is also set to become a significant degree centre for the SAE european operations, the flagship school amongst the 50 SAE Institutes that already exist on five continents. This is a completely new dimension for SAE and a milestone in its history of more than 30 years of providing creative technology education. (October 12, 2007):
SAE Atlanta holds its grand opening celebration. Attendees, including members of the local auido community, media, and special guest, were invited to tour the school's 20 custom-built studios, classrooms and lecture halls accompanied by SAE founder Dr. Tom Misner (standing far right).

(August 8th, 2007):
SAE Atlanta unveils it's Legendary Neve VR60 console. This console features Total Recall and Flying Faders. (July 1st, 2007):
SAE Atlanta takes delivery and installs it's Digidesign Icon console in the 5.1 surround sound mixing theater. This console allows total control of the ProTools HD digital audio workstation where student mix their sound for picture and surround sound projects.
(September 20-22, 2007): SAE ATL hosts REMIX HOTEL ATL 2007
Remix Magazine and partners return to Atlanta for three days of technology master classes, workshops, panels, seminars and clinics about music production and performance for electronic- and urban-music producers, engineers, musicians, fans and DJs at the newest state of the art SAE campus. Remix Hotel offers exposure to and training on the hottest products available for the production and performance markets.
(October, 2007) Third SAE ALUMNI CONVENTION in Berlin. We're expecting over 2,000 guests this year. About 30 seminars on different topics, 45 exhibitors from the media industry in 15 demo suits and 38 booths, 1 Action Station, Convention party at the Fritz Club featuring the SAE Alumni Awards and live bands on October 18th, outside broadcast van on the Convention center grounds (presented by rbb). (June 1st, 2006): SAE U.S. launches web based student discount portal. For many years students were able to purchase Audio Equipment and Software at exclusively discounted prices through SAE's various industry partnerships. In order to make this process easier for the students and manufacturers, SAE U.S. has now launched a web based student authentication portal. First to join was M-Audio, shortly followed by PSP Audioware.

(June, 2005): SAE Institute acquires AMS Neve.
In a surprise move Dr Tom Misner, President and Founder of the multi-national SAE Group, announced today the acquisition of the world's leading console manufacturer AMS Neve. Tom, an audio technologist, visionary & educator in the music field has maintained a very strong industry association and has been a user of Neve consoles for the past 30 years. SAE Institute will now be providing through its network in over 45 colleges in 20 countries AMS Neve broadcast/music/film and post seminars for past and new clients. This will be a first of a kind service only AMS Neve is now able to offer. The acquisition of AMS Neve by SAE represents a new Genesis in the world of audio technology.

(April, 2005): Prospective Middle Eastern students will soon have the choice to study at a new SAE Institute - Dubai Campus - proposed to open in the second half of 2005! Other targeted SAE locations include Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
(March, 2005): Over 30 SAE Byron Bay students were involved in recording and filming the Annual Blues and Roots Music Festival! With five days of music, 70,000 tickets sold, incredible Australian acts like Missy Higgins and the Beautiful Girls alongside international acts like Dave Matthews Band, The Frames, REM and Gomez. SAE Byron Bay is the ONLY College in the world where you learn by recording and filming world famous acts at sold out concerts!
(March, 2005): SAE and Native instruments join forces in educational partnership.
